About the role: The Leigh Academy are seeking to appoint a strong and experienced administrator who will join us in the role of Work Experience and Business Mentor Coordinator. The role is ideal for a candidate seeking part-time, Term-time only work and offers 18 hours per week with flexibility on days/times to suit you (we will endeavour to accommodate our successful candidate's commitments). Although it would be ideal, we do not require you to have experience directly relating to work experience; we are ultimately seeking a candidate who is experienced with a range of admin duties, independent and confident in using their initiative. This is a permanent position and requires the successful candidate to start as soon as possible.

The Work Experience and Business Mentor Co-ordinator will be responsible for the following;

Assisting students to organise work experience placements
Establishing strong business relationships with employers securing their commitment to working with the academy on an ongoing basis
Arrange any correspondence relating to placements to parents, employers and students
Undertake Risk Assessments for all placements to ensure the safety of our students is maintained at all times
Manage any problems that arise and find solutions to ensure that each student has a successful and engaging placement.
Help to organise the work-related Learning Week for all students who do not secure WEX placements
Responsibility for the Post 16 Business Mentor Scheme administration and supporting the VP or Head of Post 16 with this role via the Business Breakfast mornings, mentor training sessions and review meetings
Ensure all students in Year 11 have an onward destination into Post 16, College or gain an apprenticeship. The responsibility of ensuring no Leigh Academy student becomes a young person who is 'Not in Education, Employment, or Training' (NEET)

To successfully fulfill this role you will need to;

Have the ability to communicate and build relationships with the business community
Be persuasive and able to negotiate positive outcomes
Be passionate about working with young people
Have a relevant Health and Safety qualification or be willing to undertake one
Have exceptional communication skills
Have excellent organisational, planning, time management and IT skills
