An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Software Test Analyst to work within the Quality Assurance department of a major software vendor. They need someone with experience who can help build a suite of robust tests and who is happy to undertake manual testing of their suite of software products for the professional accountant.

Working at the Maidstone office you will be part of their well-trained Quality Assurance team who are responsible for testing their desktop and cloud products. The role will primarily be focused manual testing of their desktop products but also, where possible, providing test automation for those products.

Our client’s software helps their high-profile client-base produce Year End Accounts, Tax Returns, Audits and Audit Checklists that meet with UK and IFRS reporting standards, so it is important that the software is developed and tested to the highest standards. Knowledge of any of these products would be helpful but is not essential. The Product Managers and Developers will provide guidance on test targeting.

Working in a largely "Agile" environment the role demands a large degree of flexibility and the ability to see the big picture as well as the detail. There are excellent opportunities for advancement within this role as their product suite develops. Testing will be primarily on their proprietary software which is similar to MS Word and Excel combined. Experience of their software not required as full training will be given.

Responsibilities of a QA Test Analyst
Work with Product Managers, Developers and the QA Team to define, design and document test strategies
Implement test strategies
Test desktop products by replicating user activities
Identify and help to create, maintain and execute manual tests where automation is not viable
Isolate software problems highlighted during testing and produce clear and detailed bug reports
Verify work items against defined acceptance criteria
Provide clear and concise solution improvements for items under test

Qualifications of a QA Test Analyst
· ISTQB Foundation Level Certified or similar qualification/experience
· Previous development experience as a QA Test Analyst
· Good grasp of test methodologies, practices and frameworks
· Experienced in creating manual test plans and reports. Experience of/aptitude for test automation an advantage but not essential

· Ability to communicate at all levels
· Logical thinker
· Knowledge of financial accounting/auditing/tax would be an advantage, but not essential
