This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic maths teacher to join a small, dedicated team delivering to learners aged 16 – 19 (up to 24 with an Education Healthcare Plan) from Entry Level to Level 2 in both Functional Skills and GCSE within our Flagship Study Programme, rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted.
Working at the Romney Resource Centre is a wonderful experience for the right candidate. The role gives you the opportunity to be incredibly creative and work with some fantastically innovate colleagues. Learners are genuinely respectful and grateful for the effort their teachers put in and thus the day to day job is thoroughly rewarding for colleagues.
If you are the type of educator who feels stifled by the ongoing pressures of bureaucracy and administration within mainstream education, the RRC provides a refreshing and invigorating antidote. The role is genuinely challenging, but you have the opportunity to impact individual lives and help motivate our learners for the world of work.
We are in search of an experienced and inspirational individual who will encourage learners to engage with maths, building their skills and confidence using a variety of teaching, learning and assessment methods. The aim of the Study Programme is to help a small group of young people gain the skills and qualifications they need to progress to their next stage in life and achieving the appropriate maths qualifications and being able to apply maths skills to real world situations is an important part of that. All learning on the programme is delivered whilst developing their employability, personal and social skills in a flexible and positive environment.
The ideal candidate will have experience of working closely with / supporting people from a variety of backgrounds including challenging/disadvantaged groups of young people. You will be dedicated, have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and desire to make a difference in people’s lives. You will be organized and proficient in IT with good basic office skills and the ability to provide reports on learner progress to management.
A level 4 teaching qualification (Certificate in Education & Training (CET) or an equivalent qualification) or a level 5 teaching qualification (PGCE, Diploma in Education & Training (DET), Cert Ed, or an equivalent qualification) and Level 3 qualification in maths is required.
This role will be subject to references and an enhanced DBS Check.
