We are seeking to employ a Full Time or Part Time Carer (Day &/or Night Shifts)

To work in our care home where we care for young adults with disabilities.

Our clients suffer from a variety of physical conditions including:- Congenital disorder, acquired brain injury or degenerative illness.

JOB DESCRIPTION

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The position of a Carer involves direct contact with vulnerable adults and like most other posts at Bethany Lodge and will require a Disclosure & Barring Services check to be carried out.

• Assist members of the multi-professional team and attend meetings as required.
• On behalf of professional / senior staff, attend to the clients’ physical, psychological, social and spiritual needs and refer them for advice on how the patients’ needs may best be met.
• Protect and maintain the confidentiality and integrity of clients.
• Liaise where requested by senior members of the Home team with other health care staff or community workers involved with the client and assist the professional / senior staff in helping them develop effective therapeutic skills.
• Assist in ensuring the maintenance of appropriate and accurate records, using an Electronic Care Plan.
• Bring to the attention of professional / senior staff any change in the clients’ welfare / condition.
• Avail yourself of opportunities to attend courses, study days relevant to your role.
• Be aware of and comply with the broad principles of the Health and Safety at Work Act.
• Be aware of the broad principles of the Care Standards Act (National Minimum Standards).
• Work within the Home’s procedures, policies and guidelines.
• Undertake other duties as requested by the person-in-charge.
