Head of Contracts & Procurement

Our client, an internationally recognised service provider, are currently recruiting for a Head of Contracts and Procurement to join their fast paced operation.

You will inspire and lead the Contracts & Procurement team in helping the business to achieve its strategic goals. Providing effective commercial direction and developing considerate and appropriate procurement strategies, to drive best value outcomes and raise standards company-wide.
This role encompasses a wide range of works (facilities management and capital spend), goods and services and you will be responsible for proactively driving performance right from strategic level input to making the day-to-day happen.
The department has been on a transformational journey over the past 4 years, arriving at a place where it has now become both the focal point for all procurement activities and integral to the delivery of the capital and maintenance programme across the business in conjunction with the engineering services team. Through the implementation of strategic construction delivery frameworks and smarter spending solutions, the department’s role has become critical to operations and in its direction going forward.

Essentials required:
• Experience leading a procurement / commercial function over a range of goods, works and services
• A good understanding of contract law and it application in relation to commercial contracts
• Good drafting and negotiation skills with attention to detail
• Understanding and working knowledge of OJEU procurement regulations
• The ability to support the resolution of complex contract disputes
• Experience of structuring, negotiating and managing supplier contracts
• He ability to supply commercial advise at all stages of the contract process
• Experience of financially evaluating proposals and investment appraisal techniques and presenting proposals to senior management and boards.
