This fast-paced, growing business require a Health and Safety professional to support the management team in the pro-active management of all Safety, Health and Environment aspects across the site. The ideal candidate will successfully apply Health and Safety principles, ensuring at all times that all relevant standards are met and audited and the site remains compliant with current legislation, quality standards and contractual obligations.

Key responsibilities include:

• Duty Holder for Health & Safety compliance across site

• Engaging with teams across the business, especially in operational areas, understanding their roles and the pressures they are under and work with them to improve the awareness of Health and Safety

• In conjunction with the training team, support the design and delivery of a comprehensive programme of safety training, tailored for the needs of each job role within the business

• Communicate information on safety matters throughout the business

• Provide specialist safety advice to management on the control of health, safety and welfare matters

• Contribute to the development of H&S strategy, risk plans and the delivery of policies and practices

• Provide specialist support and advice in the investigation of incidents

• Coach operational managers on incident reporting

• Develop and carry out regular site safety audits

• Ensure accurate and relevant KPIs on performance levels are produced and shared

• Support with external audits as required and coordinate/ follow-up action points

Skills, know-how and experience required:

• Excellent communication skills

• NEBOSH qualified

• Ability to work under pressure to deadlines

• Experience of H&S within a manufacturing environment is preferable

• Excellent IT Skills
