An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Insolvency Executive to join our busy Collections & Recoveries team, based in Maidstone, Kent. This role covers 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

You will undertake the administration and management of the department’s Insolvency Portfolio which includes lodging claims with Insolvency Practitioners, voting at meetings, handling non routine queries and information requests, providing supporting documentation in respect of claims. You will also identify potential asset claims and liaise with the firm’s in house and external insolvency practitioners.

The Role:
• Actively managing all administration tasks associated with insolvent accounts for clients., including Bankruptcy (BK), Individual Voluntary Arrangements (IVA), Corporate insolvency situations (COBK) and Debt Relief Orders (DROs). To include Scottish and Irish equivalent situations where necessary.
• Processing clients’ instructions; lodging proofs of debt, proxy forms and providing supporting documentation (copy application forms, agreements, statements etc) in respect of claims; collecting dividends and accounting to clients.
• Communications with clients, customers, the Insolvency Service, local Official Receiver’s Offices and Insolvency Practitioners (IPs) including information requests, disputes, adjudication of claims etc.
• Reviewing all IVA Proposals received; seeking modifications where appropriate and voting on behalf of clients at creditors meetings, including variation meetings. Identifying potential BK asset cases and referring to our in-house or partner IP as appropriate.
• Monitoring the performance of the IPs, including ensuring regular progress reports are received and reviewing dividend outcomes. Dealing with urgent meetings; Chairman’s Reports; Annual Reports; Completion Certificates etc.
• Dealing with ad hoc queries raised by clients, customers and IPs as and when required.
• Updating Nexum with key data from the insolvency events for MI and reporting purposes.
• Assisting with holiday, absence and telephone cover, including where necessary liaising with clients and customers.
• Carrying out tasks as and when required by the Partners/Team Heads and Leaders in charge of the team.

Are you the right person?
You will have a positive and enthusiastic approach to your work with excellent written and verbal communication skills. It is essential you are able to establish and maintain effective communication and relationships with colleagues and clients, promoting a professional business image. Whilst you will have your own responsibilities, for which you will be expected to take ownership and display initiative, you will also be part of a team and so you need to be able to work closely with others and motivated to achieve both personal and team goals.

The position will suit someone who is able to work well under pressure and handle high volume caseloads whilst prioritising your work effectively to ensure deadlines are met and backlogs avoided. You will need to be methodical and have a good attention to detail, as a high level of accuracy is essential in this role. You should also demonstrate good customer service skills in dealing with clients and support Brachers vision, values and culture.

The ideal candidate will have a professional attitude, being able to recognise and appreciate the need to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality with regard to information security and data privacy. You will have a sound understanding of regulatory and client led requirements to ensure that accounts are handled in a compliant way, training will be provided.

You will have excellent administrative experience and be able to construct reasoned, structured letters and correspondence when required as well as simple reports and spreadsheets. It is essential that you are IT literate with experience of using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
