This is an exciting time to join a well-known and growing engineering business. Reporting into the Sales Office Manager, the function of the Specifications Controls Manager will be to oversee the sale of products and co-ordinate on-site commissioning activities.
You will be required to provide sound technical advice on the product range to customers and internally, on occasions, to colleagues. Therefore, you must possess an undertaking of providing technical specifications from within the HECAV sector - or relevant alternative industry. Sound communications and organisational skills are a prerequisite for this role, you will be liaising extensively externally with clients and Site Engineers to ensure commissioning duties are completed accurately to deadline.
Key responsibilities include:
* Provide support to the client at all stages of the process, from quotation and order placement through to supply and completion of commissioning activities;
* Arrange and schedule site commissioning works, liaising with clients and subcontractors as required to ensure that works are completed on time;
* Prepare and issue commissioning documentation to the client, including pre-commissioning questionnaires, checklists and final commissioning certificates;
* Arranging overnight accommodation for commissioning engineers as required;
* Keep up to date and fully accessible records of all site activities;
* Resolve site issues as they arise in a prompt manner to enable on schedule completion of works to the satisfaction of both the company and client;
* Manage initial customer enquiries via email and telephone with a high degree of professionalism and accuracy to ensure complete customer satisfaction;
* Take responsibility for servicing the needs of, and developing the relationship with the existing customer base to ensure long-term working relationships are in place;
* Prepare quotations and sales orders for customers obtaining authorisation for new customers or to agree appropriate Operating within given parameters to negotiate both sales and purchase pricing;
* Communicate technical information and advice to customers and ensure colleagues maintain up-to-date product knowledge;
* Ensure all output is compliant to ISO9001 quality guidelines.
