Position: Quantity Surveyor

Location: Canterbury, Kent

Contract type: Permanent

Start date: December 2019

Salary: £45,000+ package (negotiable depending on experience)

The Contractor:

My client holds a diverse portfolio of civil engineering schemes ranging from road improvements, concrete repairs & reinstatements and paving repairs.



The Role:

This is an excellent opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor to work with a well known civils main contractor, who has multiple projects both live and scheduled.



This role will be office based with occasional site visits across the South. Although this contractor covers all aspects of civil engineering, you will be working on a highways maintenance project.



You will be responsible for:

* Reporting directly into the Contracts Manager
* Procuring subcontractors, agreeing prices and letting the packages
* Negotiating costs with various parties
* Drawing up contracts
* Monthly reporting
* Compensation events
* Responsible for work package change control and management



Requirements:

* Degree / HND in Quantity Surveying
* Full working knowledge of NEC, option B and C forms of contract
* Excellent IT and maths skills are essential
* Attention to detail
* Excellent report writing and negotiation skills are essential
* Experience in civil engineering projects would be an advantage
