Little Acorns Therapeutic Community is currently seeking to employ a Senior Therapeutic Care Worker to complement and lead our existing staff team working with children aged 7-14 years who have experienced trauma in their early years. Therapeutic Communities (TCs) are structured, psychologically informed environments – they are places where the social relationships, structure of the day and different activities together are all deliberately designed to help people’s health and well-being.
We would require someone who has a minimum of two years experience working alongside children with complex needs such as disorganised attachments, ASD, ADHD, PTSD and developmental delays. An understanding of attachment, trauma and supporting young people who may exhibit emotional and physical challenges is desirable and for those wishing to develop a career pathway into Psychotherapy, creative therapies, Social Work or Clinical Psychology.
Candidates would need to cover shifts within a residential rota and all posts are subject to enhanced DBS check. The candidate will have a period of training/shadowing of the current Senior team before they would be required to lead shifts on their own.
