Citizens Advice Swale - Advice Session Supervisor
£7,076pa
12 hours per week

We are looking for someone who can slot in and get on with the job. We have advice sessions running in our three principal locations of Sittingbourne, Sheerness and Faversham and our supervision resources are stretched to meet all of the day-to-day expectations - before addressing matters such as annual leave, sickness or other commitments. Adding to the mix are our contributions to the Adviceline and Help to Claim services, and we have a considerable juggling act to make sure everything fits and volunteers have access to appropriate support.

To take on this post therefore, you will need to be someone who has a good level of advice experience in order to understand the range of issues our clients present, and be able to calmly and efficiently manage an advice session, supporting both experienced volunteers and those who are undergoing training. Previous knowledge of the Citizens Advice quality of advice standards and how they are applied to case write-ups and data protection will be a distinct advantage. Alongside these, though, has to be the willingness to be responsive to the organisation’s needs, operating in a relatively peripatetic fashion rather than working to a fixed day/location from week to week. The exact shape of the working week will thus be variable, but discussed and confirmed with the post-holder. This will quickly give the post-holder an overview of all of our provision and provide an invaluable platform for further roles here or elsewhere in the future.

We offer a supportive working environment, with an opportunity to build on our current good practices and help us to develop where there are challenges. Our team combines a range of experience and expertise, new and established faces and the importance of the Advice Session Supervisor role is appreciated and understood by all.

This post is offered on a permanent basis. There is a clear opportunity here for a committed individual to use their skills in a highly satisfying role that encourages initiative and responsiveness, and supports Citizens Advice Swale in boosting our presence and impact within the local community.

For an application pack, please email admin at admin@citizensadviceswale.uk or call 01795 417666

Closing date: Friday 29th November 2019 (all applications must be received by 5pm on that day)

Interviews week beginning Monday 9th December 2019
