Island Marketing Ltd, are a full service production company, supplying bespoke promotional stands, interactive experiences and retail spaces to the marketing/advertising industry for well known brands.
We are currently looking to recruit a Trainee CNC Operative to join our CNC Department.
The Role
As our Trainee CNC Operative, you will be responsible for reading technical drawings and operating the CNC machines to produce products in accordance with the technical drawings.
You will be expected to:
Read CNC technical drawings.
Drill and route panels according to manufacturing drawings.
Perform quality checks on all work that has been completed.
Change all tools on CNC machines within health and safety guidelines.
Complete all CNC programming accurately.
Work as part of a team.
Ensure that work area is kept clean and tidy.
Work within health and safety at work act of 1974 at all times and in all working areas.
Ad-hoc tasks may be requested from time to time that is not listed above, but will be required.
Additional hours will be required during busy periods.
Perform any reasonable management instruction within time frame requested.
Learn different skills in other departments of the company
Assisting with off site installations from time to time with the opportunity to work abroad
Working hours will be Monday to Friday, 09:00 am to 17:00 pm, and flexibility with working hours is essential as overtime will be required from time to time. We are in a deadline driven industry with tight lead times and the ability to think on your feet and self motivation will be required.
The Candidate
To be considered for our Trainee CNC Operative role, you will have the following skills and experience:
Qualifications
GCSE Mathematics and English preferable
Engineering qualification is desirable but not essential
Skills/ Knowledge (required)
Work well under pressure
Work well within a team
Problem solving
A good standard of computer literacy
Reliability
Skills/ Knowledge (beneficial but not essential)
Previous experience of working on CNC machines
Previous knowledge of programming CNC Machines
Previous experience of reading technical drawings
Previous experience in Sketchup software
Previous experience in Adobe software
Previous experience in a workshop environment
