We are looking for a Credit Controller/Accounts Assistant to join a reputable company and act as a point of contact for their customers.
The role’s responsibilities include liaising with customers to resolve issues and ensure payment within the agreed terms and assisting the Group Financial Controller with control account reconciliations and general preparation of the Management Accounts
Responsibilities
Chase payment of applications and retentions from customers to ensure payment is made within the agreed terms
Retentions record keeping and management
Final Statement of Account processing
Liaise with customers and Project Managers to resolve payment issues while maintaining a positive working relationship
Support the Group Financial Controller with Management Accounts preparation
Assist the Group Financial Controller with cost variances to budget reports and analysation
Credit control and reporting weekly at the finance meeting to the Managing Director
Address customer queries (via phone, email or in-person)
Prepare presentations, spreadsheets and reports
Distribute incoming mail (this will be on a rota basis)
Requirements
Actively studying towards CIMA/ACCA
Pro-active problem-solving attitude with excellent attention to detail and customer service skills
Proven work experience in Credit Control
Solid time-management abilities with the ability to prioritise tasks
Bookkeeping skills and journal entry
Previous experience of VAT and CIS returns
Hands-on experience with MS Office Suite (particularly MS Word and MS Excel) and Sage 50 Accounts
Understanding of retentions and of the Construction Act
. To be successful in this role, you should have excellent organisation skills, great customer service manor and attention to detail along with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines. Ultimately, you will be responsible to ensure a constant good cash inflow to the company while maintaining positive customer relations. As well as the core part of the role of Credit Controller this is a fantastic opportunity for career development with continuous exposure to varied tasks within the department covering five company’s accounts preparation.
