Group Accountant | Kent | £45 - £55k

Cobb & Jones Recruitment are working with a leading Kent based business in the search for a Group Accountant on a permanent basis. The Group Accountant will take responsibility for a broad range of financial accounting duties and specifically take a key role in managing the group's balance sheet, statutory filings and month end process. The role will be based in the businesses’ Kent offices and will take on the following responsibilities:

• Assist with the preparation of the monthly consolidated management accounts for the group including the consolidation of international entities and reporting to the parent company in both IFRS and GAAP
• Complete the month end process, ensuring internal and external reporting deadlines are adhered to
• Ensure reconciliations are prepared and maintained for all balance sheet nominal accounts and key P&L accounts to ensure the accuracy of the monthly accounts process
• Prepare and assist in the preparation of formal annual and quarterly statutory accounts for both the group and group companies
• Maintain audit files and working papers to support the periodic audit requirements of external audits and reviews
• Liaise with external and internal auditors or reviewers as required to ensure the efficient and timely completion of their reviews
• Be responsible for quarterly audit testing ensuring the group remains compliant and operates to its set policies and procedures

Candidates will possess a recognised accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) and demonstrate previous experience co-ordinating the month end process in a complex business. The successful candidate will be resilient and have the ability to influence the business, with excellent problem-solving skills, strong attention to detail and financial reporting experience.
