Do you have administrative experience in a busy office with competing demands and priorities and the ability to work calmly and accurately under pressure?

The Graduate School are seeking a Postgraduate Development Assistant to provide a range of administrative support for the Graduate School Team on a full time basis until the end of December 2019 (with probable extension).

You will form part of the front office team which is the first point of contact for a wide variety of people at all levels (both internally and externally). You will acquire a good knowledge of the remit of the Graduate School and the University’s postgraduate procedures and be able to use initiative to resolve problems.

A particular focus of this role is to ensure the smooth running of the Graduate School’s training programmes.

As Postgraduate Development Assistant you will:

- act as a first point of contact for Graduate School’s Training Programmes, responding to queries and resolving any problems quickly and efficiently to ensure that a high quality service is provided
- maximise the promotion and engagement of students with the Graduate Training Programmes
- organise the induction, training and representative activities for Graduate Teaching Assistants so that they can undertake their teaching with confidence
- provide a range of administrative support for the Graduate School to ensure the efficient operation of the department

To be successful in this role you will have:

-recent experience of working or studying in Higher Education
- excellent organisational skills
- Education to A Level or equivalent working experience
- excellent oral and written communication skills

The Graduate School provides an institutional focus on the development and support of graduate education and research at Kent, working in partnership with academic schools, faculties, central service departments and Kent Union to enhance the quality of the postgraduate student experience across all campuses and create a vibrant postgraduate community.
