Kent Garage Equipment has been established for over 25 years and is dedicated to the supply and installation of quality garage equipment to the automotive industry.
Due to rapid growth we are now looking for a Full Time Parts Advisor within our busy service department based in Chatham, Kent. You will be joining a friendly and hardworking team where you will be dealing with both customers and our own engineers answering parts inquiries and processing parts orders.
Reporting to the Service Manager, you will be responsible for the smooth operation of the parts department.
As a Parts Advisor you will be responsible for maintaining stock levels in the stores, ordering specialist parts as they are required and undertaking inventory checks to make sure all parts ordered are delivered and are correct.
Previous parts department experience, would be an advantage
Main Responsibilities and Tasks:
• Process online and telephone parts orders efficiently for next day delivery, communicate directly with Customers keeping them up to date of any issues. Raise orders, locate and organise delivery
• Helping to identify the correct parts with our engineers to carry out the repairs to customers on site equipment.
• Assisting the service department with quotations for spare parts required for repairs to customers on site equipment.
• General upkeep of departmental administration, including, preparing pick notes, invoicing, preparing parts lists, filing etc.
• Organising the stores and parts areas
• Maintaining an ordered stock room and finding parts from stock
• Raising invoices for parts sold
• Ability to identify parts from parts catalogues and electronic media to meet customers requests
• Stock control and replenishment
Skills Required :
• Good Time management and communication skills, both written and verbal and key.
• You will need to be confident and be able to demonstrate good organisation and
administration skills
• Be computer literate and experienced in using Microsoft office, Word and Excel.
• Able to work on your own or as part of a team with good self-motivation
• Attention to detail and the ability to look after customers in a professional, friendly and effective manner
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
