My client a Warehouse and Distribution company is looking for an experienced Warehouse Manager. Hours of work will be Monday to Friday 0700-1700 and alternate Saturday's.

The scope of this role is to support the Warehouse Management Team to achieve the company's financial, operational and customer service objectives. You will be required to manage the warehouse operation on a day-to-day basis ensuring compliance within the agreed standards. You will liaise between the customer service team, transport team and warehousing team to improve quality, cost efficiency and staff performance. You will also work to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the warehouse operation and identify best practice for handling, warehouse utilisation and the mechanical handling of equipment.



Duties & Responsibilities

* Manage the warehouse operation in accordance with company and area-specific policies and procedures.
* Enforce health & Safety procedures with all staff including visitors on the site.
* To ensure the warehouse area is kept clean and hygienic.
* Ensure all operatives, supervisors, charge hands and staff are trained in accordance with current guidelines and company operating procedures.
* Manage the activities and resources to achieve financial, operational and customer service results.
* Conduct accident reporting and investigations when needed inline with company policy.
* To assist in the management of productivity to achieve KPIs and changing priorities where necessary, and being proactive in looking for continuous improvement.
* Ensure company policies are adhered to, administrative functions are completed within deadlines and records are maintained in line with both customer and company requirements.
* To promote harmonious and effective working relationships both internally and externally, ensuring excellent customer services through a combination of communication, teamwork, motivation, leadership and team meetings.
* Communicate both upwards and downwards to enhance staff morale and create a better understanding of the businesses needs.
* To be responsible for quality control. Making adjustments where necessary during shift to produce orders within specifications and ensure all rejected product/stock outside of specifications has the correct paperwork.
* Manage staff performance inline with KPIs.
* Ensuring staff levels are met and managed with all personnel training in accordance with company policy.
* Assist and advise as required with new customer business development and implementation.
* Ensure equipment is operational and relevant checks are made before and after use and that paperwork is maintained.
* Assist in the recruitment, training and development of individuals and the team.
* Actively participate and contribute to the HACCP and Audit team when required.
* Encourage and promote good safety and environmental behaviour within all employees and actively encourage near-miss reporting, take direct actions to unsafe acts or conditions.
* To monitor all inspections, audits and check and ensure carried out as per schedule.
* To act in accordance with procedures and direction in order to protect Food and Product safety and maintain a safe working environment.
* To review the effectiveness of your team and bring to the attention of the Warehouse Operations Manager improvements that you identify.
* To problem solve and think on your feet when problems arise.

Who we are looking for:

* An experienced Warehouse Manager with a proven track record of managing and motivating large teams.
* Experience within a FMCG operation along with a Food Manufacturing background.
* A strong character who isn't afraid to challenge current working methods to improve efficiency.
