1st/2nd Line Support Engineer - Sevenoaks, Kent - Up to £24,000 + Benefits - ASAP Start

My client currently has an excellent opportunity for a 1st/2nd Line Support Engineer who can provide service desk and hands on support to its internal staff that are located nationwide. This role will also give you the opportunity to get involved with other areas in IT such as IT and change projects. This could be anything from software or hardware upgrades, rollouts and builds or implementing and installing new applications.

Daily duties

* Providing 1st/2nd line support via the service desk or hands on at desk
* Coordinating IT support services across the business, ensuring that staff at all levels receive the appropriate support
* Purchasing and coordinating the installation of IT software and equipment to 120+ premises across the country
* Administering system for new starters or leavers
* Work with the IT Systems & Project Manager to develop platform standards for corporate systems and devices, according to requirements for each end user role.
* To work with the IT Project Manager to develop and review standards for internet connections, networks, and systems, implement and monitor these standards to ensure optimal processing capacity, security and reliability.
* To support the identification of gaps in ICT knowledge for staff, and make recommendations for ICT training or documentation.

Skills required

* Proven background of providing 1st/2nd Lien Support on a service desk and face to face
* Strong working knowledge of;

* Microsoft Office 2010/O365
* MS Operating Systems - 7/10/O365
* Configuration of networks, servers and users mobile devices

* Advising on, developing, implementing and monitoring IT technical standards
* IT qualifications such as COMPTIA, MCP, Cisco or ITIL will be hugely beneficial
* Basic knowledge with networks or servers is also desirable
* Purchasing IT hardware and software
* Excellent communications skills
* Awareness of technology developments and potential organisational applications
