Graduate Software Developer in Test (Python)

Systems Mechanics is a leading big data software solution provider to the Telecoms industry. We are looking to add talented IT graduates to our growing in-house test team. This is an exciting time to take a key role in our organisation that is rapidly expanding and offers a real differentiator to its customers.

Based in Whitstable, Kent, we have an immediate opening for a graduate Software Developer in Test to join our expanding test department on our ETL product range. Our ETL product offering provides our customers a real-time view of their networks to ensure the efficient load of billions of measurement counters every day.

We are a fast-growing Telecoms Big Data provider, looking for a person with a good degree who is seeking a challenging and rewarding career in software engineering within a testing context.

The Software Developer in Test position is within in our test team, working in a collaborative environment developing test scripts and processes and executing test runs on our Automated Test Platform for the ETL product range. You will have an opportunity to see our tested products running on customer sites.

A working knowledge of the following skills/technologies is highly desirable.

• Attention to Detail
• Python
• Linux shell/scripting
• SQL

Any of the following experience would be desirable:

• Agile / JIRA / Scrum / Kanban
• Red Hat/CentOS
• Mobile Networks (GSM, UMTS, CDMA or LTE)
• Unit testing and debugging
• SVN version control
• TestRail
• Java
• Maven
• Spring
• IDE based development (preferably PyCharm)
• Up to 2 years’ commercial software development
