My client who are an established, successful and close knit team who work from their garden office near Tonbridge are now looking to employ an I.T. support technician.

Working for a pro-active professional IT support company who looks after small to medium business clients in West Kent, are seeking a talented IT Support Technician to join their team. You will work closely with all their service plan clients, building a knowledge of their systems and businesses - this is quite different from working on a support desk where you have no relationship with the customers.

Key Duties

Implement new systems and upgrade of existing systems

Resolve IT system issues and problems

Record accurately work performed

Document work processes and update knowledge base

Provide helpdesk support to clients

Working Style

Able to travel; some support requires work to be undertaken at client sites, via remote tools and in the workshop

Good interpersonal skills face to face and over the telephone

Ability to work without close supervision in accordance with company guidelines

Team player, supporting junior members of staff and working co-operatively.

Adaptable; willing to get involved in other areas of the company such as marketing and sales

Skills and experience

Minimum of 12 months experience in an IT support role

Knowledge of Windows operating systems, both pc and servers

Knowledge of computer hardware, software, security and networking

An IT qualification such as A+ or MCSE

English and Maths GCSE grade C or above

Bonus: Mac OSX knowledge and mobile technology

Driving licence and use of own car.

Ideal Person:

Ability to work on your own initiative

Good memory and problem solving skills

Happy to take direction and open to learning

Demonstrate practical knowledge and problem-solving strategies

Strong communication skills; ability to communicate with customers who have little IT knowledge

Interest in technology: keep abreast of new developments in software and hardware

Excellent time and task management

Flexible approach to changing workload priorities and working hours

Negotiable annual salary
