ASSISTANT ACCOUNTANT    to £25,000AAE – Full time



An experienced Assistant Accountant is required to join a busy and friendly team at a company based in Folkestone. Reporting to the Financial Controller this role offers a competitive salary and the chance to develop your experience in accountancy within an innovative company going through an exciting phase of growth. 

The role of Assistant Accountant will be responsible for assisting the Financial Controller in the production of monthly management accounts and have full responsibility for the Job Costing function. Responsibilities to include: 

* Reconciling Purchase and Sales Ledgers 
* Coding and Reconciling Job Costing Ledgers 
* Processing Sales Order and Invoices 
* Review and chasing of Debtors 
* Overseeing the Bought Ledger Clerk and their responsibilities
* Payment Runs of Purchase Ledger and CIS Ledger 
* Review and good housekeeping of Bought Ledger 
* Assist Financial Controller with Ad hoc month end duties as and when required 

This role would be well suited to an experienced accounts professional who is well-organised and able to prioritise their workload efficiently. Experience of Sales, Purchase and Nominal Ledgers is essential and a working knowledge of the SAGE accounting software is too. You will also ideally have / come from a Construction / labour services background.  It would be desirable if you are studying towards the AAT qualification. You will need to be proficient with Microsoft office and Excel and be able to work off your own initiative while contributing to overall team objectives
