This a 6 month fixed term full time contract, based in Aylesford and working 37 hours per week.
Main purpose of job:
To upgrade all of RBLI’s windows 7 operating systems to Windows 10.
Overview of the Role & Team:
This position is a fixed term 6 month contract and is key to ensure the security of our network by upgrading to the latest MS operating system so we continue to receive updates and patches. You will be part of a small team which is 4 strong, consisting of 2 developers, 1 Systems Support Analyst and the above vacant position. The team is overseen by the Head of Business Systems, who holds overall responsibility for the performance. The team itself is small and close-knit, with a diverse group of people. You will be a team player but also happy to work alone when required.
Key Responsibilities:
Upgrade Staff Machines:
•Plan the upgrade path for all staff machine across the business
•Deploy the upgrade and test
•Upgrade memory where required
Upgrade Job Club/Skills machines:
•Plan the upgrade for non-staff machines
•Deploy and test
General:
Working closely with employees and managers to ensure minimal downtime for people
Personal Attributes:
•Team Player
•Patience
•Unafraid to ask questions
•Well presented
•Excellent communication skills
•Good telephone manner
Working Environment:
•This role will be office based, and will involve visiting other locations
•Working as part of a small but very busy team
Skills & Experience Required:
Essential:
•At least 2 years’ experience of Windows 7 and 10 Operating Systems
•Experience of upgrading from Windows 7 to Windows 10
•Experience troubleshooting upgrades
•Full Driving Licence held
Desirable:
•Experience of working in a virtualised environment
