Full Time Engineer’s Assistant to join our busy team based in Erith, Kent.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Post: Full Time Engineer’s Assistant
Starting Salary: National Minimum Wage
Hours: 36 hours per week
8.30 am to 4.00 pm – Monday
8.00 am – 4.00 pm – Tuesday to Thursday
8.00 am – 3.00 pm - Friday (including half hour unpaid lunch break)
Responsible to: Managing Director
Job Responsibilities
Support lead engineers with maintenance and remedial tasks on various roof access and safety equipment. This role involves working at heights and the suitable candidate will be trained in working at heights. Requires applying engineering techniques; conducting tests and inspections; preparing reports and certification.
General Duties
• Support lead engineer in conducting maintenance, inspection and testing of various types of working at height and roof safety equipment.
• Work closely with the lead engineer, adapting, and modifying engineering techniques; assisting in recommending and solving problems; performing remedial and installation works.
• Assist in ensuring correct operation of equipment; completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions.
• Attend relevant work related training as and when required to ensure competence levels maintained for the work environment.
• Representing the company in a professional and courteous manner.
