We are recruiting for an experienced HGV Fitter for our client in Rochester. This is an opportunity to join a large company with an unrivalled fleet.
Candidates with experience are preferred but those recently qualified will be considered and should also apply.
This is a permanent and full-time position. You will be working 40 hours per week with a structured shift pattern: Week 1 06:00-14:00; Week 2 14:00-22:00; Week 3 06:00-14:00; Week 4 14:00-22:00.

Key responsibilities include:
Planned and reactive maintenance on vehicles and plant to achieve defined standards of safety and reliability.
Ensure vehicles are prepared for MOT tests and ensure MOT records are kept up to date and compliant.
Inspect, diagnose faults, service and repair fleet and equipment, within workshop and through external suppliers.
Complete vehicle check lists and maintain comprehensive records.
Attend breakdowns away from normal place of work.
Report all incidents, accidents and major defects to line management immediately.
Undertake all tasks in accordance with statutory procedures, the company's health and safety rules and procedures, the employee's handbook, and their BS EN ISO 9001 Quality Management System.
Liaise closely and communicate with management and field teams to perform tasks efficiently and effectively with minimum waste of time and effort.
Assist with the administration of the depot workshop in accordance with instructions.
Attend staff/training meetings when required.

The successful candidate will be:
A qualified HGV mechanic with a professionally recognised qualification in Heavy Vehicle/Plant Maintenance and repair (NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent)
desirably a HGV licence holder and CPC (not essential)
Qualified City and Guilds Level 3 HGV or equivalent
A great communicator
Able to manage a working workshop with little supervision
Flexible in regards to working hours
work to a consistently high standard of health and safety
able to organise, plan and ensure work programmes are established and followed
IRTEC Licence holder (desirable) or similar recognised Heavy Vehicle Inspection qualification
Familiar with the DVSA produces annual test inspection manuals / details of inspection methods and pass/fail criteria
Experienced in hydraulics, pneumatics and electrics (desired but training will be given)
Reliable and responsible
