We are a well-established Managed Service Provider actively seeking a full-time IT Support Engineer to work within our busy service desk department. This position will be based at our Head Office in Dartford, providing support to our client base of over 400 companies made up of both Corporate and SME clients. Whilst the position is mostly office based the successful candidate would be expected to travel and perform field-based work at these client’s sites based predominately in London and the Home Counties.
A full UK driving license is therefore required.
The role will primarily incorporate the network administration and support of the IT infrastructure and environment of our clients’ networks. You’ll also be given the opportunity to work on projects, both individually and within a team.
Job Accountabilities
Realistically set response expectations with the client based on contractual Service Level Agreements and manage this through to resolution
Implement, document and troubleshoot the IT Infrastructure at the desktop, user application, server and device level
Provides desktop and server IT administrative support to users across the United Kingdom
Administers software deployment, security updates and patches
Works autonomously to resolve complex problems in a multi-functional setting, assessing and communicating issues of technological impact
Follow IT policies and procedures meticulously, ensuring all appropriate approvals and processes are performed. Reviews IT control functions on a regular basis to ensure adherence to policies and controls
Identifies potential security weaknesses, recommend improvements to close vulnerabilities, implement changes and documenting upgrades/changes
Work with third party vendors to troubleshoot and resolve issues
Willing to provide out-of-hours support, including weekend work as required

Ideal Experience:
MCP certification, or greater
Enterprise level Windows Server management and support
Active Directory & Group Policy
Microsoft Exchange 2010 and newer
Virtualisation (Hyper-V & VMware ESXi) management and support
Office 365
Backup processes & Business continuity – specifically StorageCraft ShadowProtect
Patch Management
Anti-virus – specifically ESET & Bitdefender
IP Telephony / VoIP – specifically Avaya IP Office
Networking protocols
Wireless networking experience
N-Central RMM
Autotask PSA
ITIL Framework experience
DBS Registered
Personal Qualities
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral
Organised, ability to work confidently under pressure
Highly motivated
Highly analytical and able to troubleshoot and prioritise needs, requirements and other issues
Able to work well both within a team framework and unsupervised, managing own workload and possessing a proactive work ethic
Methodical person with strong administrative skills and a keen eye for detail
Committed to continuous learning and a desire to develop within the role
