An opportunity has arisen for an experienced full time bookkeeper to join our growing team in our New Romney / Dymchurch office.

The role:

As a firm who pride ourselves in client service, you will have experience in running client’s bookkeeping in an accountancy practice independently and to a high standard.

As part of the bookkeeping role, you will input sales and purchase invoices, record receipts and payments, reconcile bank accounts and provide monthly management accounts. You will also be expected to liaise with third parties, so excellent communications skills are essential.

You may also be required to perform general office duties, such as telephone calls, welcoming clients and filing.

You should be proficient in Word and Excel, and experience with Sage and Xero is preferred.

You will need to be well organised and be able to work in a timeous manner, with the ability to work to deadlines and calmly under pressure.

The ability to work by yourself as well as part of a team is essential. Excellent attention to detail is a must.

Requirements:

Minimum of 2 years’ experience in an accountancy practice dealing with bookkeeping clients
Bookkeeping to trial balance level
Preparation and submission of VAT returns
Working knowledge of Sage and Xero is beneficial, but full training will be provided.
Excellent communication skills
Attention to detail is essential
Excellent organisation skills, with the ability to work in a timeous manner and under pressure to meet deadlines
Able to work independently and use initiative
