Working for a large privately-owned international freight and logistics company with an unrivalled network of professional partners across the world. They are experts in all major Global trade markets and specialists in Europe, China, South East Asia and the Indian Subcontinent.
General duties to include:
• Completion of day to day Dover road freight customs clearance work
• Completion of the deep-sea customs operations
• Booking and delivery operations of deep-sea containers
• Completion and amendment of freight bookings as required
• Stamping and processing of required customs documentation
• Assist other Customs Clerks with completion of required paperwork
• Process amendments and correspondence to customs
• Completion of excise declarations
• Process data on the HM Revenue & Customs online Intrastat System
Specific skills and experience:
• Have a good understanding of customs procedures and principles and a keen desire to continue your learning
• IT literate with a good understanding of the use of Excel spreadsheets
• Ability to work under pressure and against tight deadlines
• Be conscientious and have attention to detail
• Excellent team working and communication with people of all levels
• Ability to identify and report problems
