Friend & Grant Ltd are a well established Chartered Accountancy practice based in Rochester, Kent. The firm provides high quality accountancy, taxation and business consultancy services to hundreds of businesses throughout the Medway Towns and Kent and has grown rapidly over recent years.
We currently require a PAYE specialist to join our tax team. We work at a fast pace in an ever changing and developing work environment. Our emphasis is on giving 100% client satisfaction, a fast turnaround and quality advice. This role is only for someone who wants to be challenged.
The role will include the following:
• Assistance with the day to day operation of over 250 payrolls ranging from 1 man companies to up to 100 staff using Sage Payroll. This includes checking and updating tax coding notices, issuing P45s, dealing with SMP/SSP/SPP, applications for advance funding, provision of monthly payroll spreadsheets to clients, supply of accounts journals in respect of monthly payrolls.
• Day to day operation of small CIS schemes (up to 10 subcontractors).
• Registration and closure of PAYE/CIS schemes.
• Implementation of auto-enrolment for clients.
• Notification to HMRC of taxable benefits in kind.
• Checking client PAYE coding notices.
• Fielding client payroll queries.
The successful candidate will receive ongoing training both internally and with external training providers.
The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate a detailed knowledge of all aspects of payroll and will have worked in either a professional accountancy practice or payroll bureau.
The skills required by the successful candidate include:
• Strong analytical skills - highly numerate.
• Good organisational and planning skills.
• The ability and willingness to delegate.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• The ability to work under pressure and to deadlines.
• Good attention to detail and accuracy.
The basic salary will be between £25,000 to £35,000 plus bonus depending on experience.
In addition, after 3 months you will be able to join the company's pension scheme.
