Workshop Fitters Required - Full Time
Working Hours: 40 hours per week
Shifts:
Week 1 06:00 -14:00
Week 2 14:00-22:00
Week 3 6:00-14:00 Tuesday – Friday Saturday morning 07:00-15:00
Week 4 14:00-22:00
Key Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
Perform planned and reactive maintenance on vehicles and plant to achieve defined standards of safety and reliability. You are required to ensure vehicles are prepared adequately for annul MOT tests and ensuring that all service and MOT records are kept up to date and legally compliant.
Inspect, diagnose faults, service and repair vehicle fleet and equipment directly, through the Company’s main workshop or using external service providers.
Complete vehicle check lists and maintain comprehensive records on the condition of vehicles and plant and on the work performed on each asset.
Attend breakdowns away from your normal place of work as and when required.
Undertake all tasks in accordance with statutory procedures, the company’s health and safety rules and procedures, the employee’s handbook, and our BS EN ISO 9001 Quality Management System
Liaise closely and communicate with management and field teams to perform tasks efficiently and effectively with the minimum of wasted time and effort
Assist with the administration of the depot workshop in accordance with instructions
Attend staff and training meetings when required
Person Specification:
You must be a qualified HGV mechanic with a professionally recognised qualification in Heavy Vehicle / Plant Maintenance and repair (NVQ Level 2 or 3 or equivalent)
HGV licence holder and CPC desirable
Qualified - City and Guilds Level 3 HGV or equivalent
Good communicator and able to manage a working workshop with minimal supervision
Flexible to working hours
Work consistently to high standards of health and safety
Organising and planning skills to ensure work programmes are established and followed
IRTEC Licence holder desired (Inspection Technician Accreditation) or similar professionally recognised qualification in Heavy Vehicle Inspection
Be conversant with the DVSA produces annual test inspection manuals, which give details of inspection methods and pass/fail criteria
Experience in hydraulics, pneumatic and electrics would be an advantage, training would be available for the right candidate
