A well-regarded, and specialist independent firm of chartered accountants based in rural West-Kent is looking for an experienced Bookkeeper to join their friendly and professional team. The firm are looking to appoint a candidate with previous Practice experience gained from a practice environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for bookkeeping, preparing VAT returns and accounts preparation. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a specialist professional firm!

The Practice Bookkeeper will be responsible for:

Accounts preparation on behalf of clients
Processing VAT returns
Processing large volumes of purchase invoices, accurately and efficiently
Maintaining, reconciling and controlling purchase and sales ledgers
Recording bank transactions and reconciling client bank accounts
Draw up financial statements (trial balance, income statement, balance sheet)

Essential Requirements are:

Good experience of Sage 50 accounts, Xero, purchase ledger invoice processing, bank processing and reconciliation and Microsoft Office software especially Excel, Word and Outlook
Good attention to detail and able to work quickly and accurately to tight timescales
Happy to deal with large amount of transactional processing
Strong interpersonal and client handling skills
Good written and verbal communication skills
Experience of working in an office or business environment
