We are currently looking to recruit Pallet checkers/labellers to work for my client situated on the eastern Docks.

Work involves checking pallets to ensure they are not damaged and labelling when they enter the warehouse. Applicants must have good attention to detail and be willing to be on their feet for the majority of the shift.

Working days and start times are between Friday and a Monday, Start times are given approximately 48 hours before boat arrival, so all applicants must be flexible and be able to work nights on occasions as start times are dependent on the ships arrival. Shifts are 2 x 12 hour shifts every weekend.

Due to the nature of the work, applicants must be physically fit, and be prepared to work in a busy and high paced environment.

Due to the location of my clients site -
ALL staff are required to take a drug and alcohol screening test. There is a zero tolerance on any illegal drugs or excessive use of alcohol. The test will be carried out prior to you being offered work and you will be subject to random tests throughout the year. If any tests come back as a fail , work will stop immediately and you will not be allowed to work at any site within the docks.

Criminal Record Checks

Pay Rates: -
£8.00 PH - Then £8.36 after 13 weeks
We also pay an additional £1 ph for working between 10pm and 6am, plus double time for bank holidays, and double time for working longer than a 12-hour shift.

Own transport unless you live in Dover, this is due to some of the start and finish times.
Training consists of 4 days, which involves assessments on the pallet trucks, with on the job training. Times for training are 6pm to midnight (maybe until 2am) which are normally Tuesday to Friday.

This role is long term/regular ongoing work, and you will be working for J & J Recruitment at my clients site.
