My client is seeking an experienced Warehouse Supervisor or someone who is looking for their next step in their career. This role will be to oversee daily operations within their warehouse environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a comprehensive understanding of warehouse management systems, shipping and receiving processes, and logistics. This role is crucial in ensuring efficient materials handling, optimising business processes, and managing a dedicated team to meet operational goals.
Duties
Supervise daily warehouse activities, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
Manage shipping and receiving operations, including the coordination of logistics for inbound and outbound shipments.
Utilise the Warehouse Management System (WMS) to track inventory levels and optimise storage solutions.
Oversee heavy lifting operations while ensuring proper materials handling techniques are followed by all team members.
Lead a team of warehouse staff, providing training, guidance, and performance evaluations to enhance productivity.
Collaborate with third-party logistics (3PL) providers to streamline operations and improve service delivery.
Implement best practices for inventory control and stock management using AS400 or similar systems.
Continuously assess business processes within the warehouse to identify areas for improvement and efficiency gains.
Experience
Proven experience in warehouse management or a similar supervisory role within a logistics environment.
Familiarity with shipping and receiving procedures, as well as materials handling techniques.
Strong understanding of warehouse management systems (WMS) and experience is advantageous.
Demonstrated ability to manage teams effectively while fostering a positive work environment. .
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
