Hays recruitment are currently recruiting for a laboratory technician for our client based in Rochester. This is a full-time permanent position starting asap.
Monday to Friday
£24,000 - £26,000

Duties
- Take full responsibility for the daily running and weekly calibration of the spectrometer.
- Analyse incoming ingot for compatibility.
- Perform hardness and tensile testing of metallurgical samples.
- Production and issuing of reports for both chemical and tensile testing.
- Carry out weekly / monthly calibration of equipment around the factory.
- Organise and schedule external subcontractors to carry out equipment calibrations.
- Order laboratory equipment and materials.

Requirements
- Organisational skills
- Practical chemistry/metallurgical background
- Working in an aerospace manufacturing environment
- Computer literate
