Transport Compliance & Planning Officer

Our client, who is situated between Ashford and Canterbury, is looking for a Transport Compliance & Planning Officer to predominantly focus on legal compliance of the Drivers and vehicles. Salary is £30-34,000 per annum, dependent upon experience, and benefits include 21 days holiday (rising to a maximum of 26 days) plus bank holidays, as well as Medicash, pension, company discounts and more. You must be able to drive and have your own vehicle, as the site is not accessible via public transport. Hours are 9am to 530pm Monday to Friday, with no shifts or weekend work.

Duties include:

* Managing Drivers' hours and O-Licence requirements
* Ensure legal compliance of the fleet, including servicing and mileage reports
* Ensure maintenance and repairs of the fleet are up to date
* Ensure loads are safely secured, and undertake H&S duties as required
* Support with the implementation of transport strategies, KPIs and FORs compliance requirements
* Ensuring all operational and procedural guidelines for IT/business systems are followed to protect data integrity
* Ensure company and statutory H&S requirements are met and maintained
* Other tasks include assisting with the day to day running of the department: planning loads and collections; clearing deliveries; invoicing of loads; reviewing orders etc

The ideal candidate will have:

* Strong transport compliance knowledge and experience
* Good understanding of Vision is essential
* Experience of Driver compliance, tacho data and working hours regulations
* Experience of dealing with and understanding Operator's Licence requirements
* Knowledge of transport planning and route scheduling, and fleet and transport environments
* Be IT literate, including Microsoft Office
* A CPC qualification or FORS Practitioner certification is desirable
* Excellent communication and analytical skills, and able to multitask and prioritise your workload
* Management experience in penalty charge notices and an understanding of cost-saving is desirable
