Support Pathfinder – 18 hours per week, one year fixed contract

Salary £13,776 p.a.

Beams are a well-established parent-driven charity based in Kent with a great reputation for delivery of pragmatic and practical support to disabled children, young people and their families.

We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated and dynamic person to get involved and join our team.

The successful applicant will work closely with disabled young people and their families. With a range of engagement and planning tools by your side (training will be provided) you will understand and document the wishes and feelings of the young person, building a clear picture of the outcomes they wish to achieve and support them to develop action plans.

You will also help young people and their families to manage any Direct Payments allocated to them - including support to recruit, manage and employ Personal Assistants.

Key to this role is:-

• your ability to engage and form good relationships with disabled young people and their families
• your ability to communicate clearly and effectively (both in writing and in person)
• your enthusiasm and commitment to making a difference

You will help to navigate some of the complexities and barriers that will be faced, ensuring that the pathway to the future for the young person is well established and achievable.

The role is initially for 18 hours per week, to be worked over 3 days. There can be some flexibility around work patterns, however ideally work days will be Monday, Friday and either Wednesday or Thursday. The work will be fieldwork in style and the successful applicant will be based at home. A full, clean driving license and use of a car is essential to the role.
