Working for a global manufacturer in the Folkestone area, as Materials Specialist you will be responsible for strategic and tactical materials management functions, acting as a liaison among all business units impacted by materials management, including Supply chain, Demand planning, Supply Planning, Global Manufacturing Services and manufacturing plants, contractors and direct material suppliers

The role

* Managing materials supply and inventory throughout transitions, launches, and discontinuations
* Ordering of requirements to satisfy production and ensure OTIF at all related plants
* Working with key suppliers and EU Procurement to ensure flow of information critical to effective materials management.
* Developing raw material inventory targets for key suppliers and plants.
* Updating, tracking and report periodically across required business units.
* Working closely with procurement, suppliers, and planning to ensure supplier capacity information is communicated effectively and encorporated into planning processes
* Manage daily operation performance - workload balancing and scheduling
* Driving value and develop continuously improving business processes
* Resolving and effectively communicating impact of supply issues.
* Provide tactical and strategic leadership in planning and procurement.

With high-level communication skills, you should be able to demonstrate your ability to influence and lead cross-functional teams and engage with stakeholders effectively. Your analytical and commercial acumen will be at the fore of your skills-set along with your end-to-end supply chain experience. Ideally CIPS qualified, your experience will have been gained from a multi-national business, working across borders.
