DUL Laboratories have a vacancy for a Fire Testing Technical Technician at their site in Barfrestone, Nr Dover, Kent, CT15 7JG.

About Us: DUL is a provider of fire testing services. We specialise in evaluating the fire resistance and reaction to fire of various materials and constructions to ensure compliance with industry standards.

Job Description: We are seeking a Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting a variety of fire tests on samples and constructions, covering both fire resistance testing and reaction to fire testing, ensuring they meet stringent standards.

The Role: The day-to-day responsibilities of the role include booking in and monitoring samples in conditioning areas, tracking mass loss, and conditioning periods as needed.
Technicians are responsible for reviewing samples for compliance with standard requirements, for both reaction to fire and fire resistance testing. Assisting in constructing standard set ups for fire resistance testing under supervision and undertaking fire testing of samples as directed by laboratory management. Additionally, completing all required documentation accurately and promptly, disposing of fire-tested samples according to established procedures, and drafting detailed test reports.

Qualifications:

Previous experience in a laboratory or testing environment is preferred
Understanding of construction standards and procedures
Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
Ability to follow detailed procedures and protocols
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Basic understanding of health & safety regulations is desired


Full Time Position 08.30am - 5pm Monday to Friday.
Annual leave: 28 days (this includes all bank holidays)

You will require your own transport due to the fact we have no public transport serving the village.
