To ensure this continues, we have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Higher Education Adviser, who offers expert knowledge of both the UK and international university sectors and who has a strong commitment to deliver an exciting and forward-thinking Careers curriculum.
Ideally, the successful candidate will have experience as a university Admissions Tutor with knowledge of the UCAS application process and a record of academic achievement including an honours degree from a world class university (2.1 or above). Experience or knowledge of independent schools and the school curriculum is desirable.

Purpose of the role:
To develop and implement a comprehensive careers strategy and curriculum for KS3-KS5 aligned with the School’s vision and objectives.
To maximise the successful entry of our students into the world’s top universities, colleges and employment schemes.
To ensure that all of our students receive the tailored support, guidance and access to the opportunities needed to achieve their aspirations.
To ensure the School is compliant in its provision for CEIAG.

Key skills and responsibilities:

The provision of HE advice and the preparation and monitoring of all applications for university, including assisting pupils post A Level results in August.
The provision of careers advice for pupils, parents, and other key stakeholders in preparation for curriculum choices at 14+, 16+ and beyond.
Confident presentation of the School’s Careers programme to staff at inset days or at SLT meetings, as well as to visitors to the School such as Get Ready for Inspection Days (GRID), ISI or the Local Governing Body.
Confident presentation of CEIAG information at key events in the school calendar.
Ensure that pupils are making the most of opportunities within and outside of the classroom that will help them in their chances of making successful university, degree apprenticeship, college courses and job applications.
In association with the Alumni, Marketing and Development office, develop and manage a network of parents, alumni, business partners and other friends of the School to provide external guidance, work experience, internships and support for students seeking places at university and into the world of work beyond university.
Organisation of regular career workshops for all Key Stages as well as the Careers / Gap Year and University Fairs which run in alternate years.
Analysis of data to assess the effectiveness of career programmes and initiatives and to make data-driven improvements.
Ensuring that the Careers and Higher Education information on the school website is kept up-to-date.
A strong commitment to maintaining up-to-date knowledge of both national developments in university support and careers provision, as well as emerging trends in the employment landscape.
