Salary: Up to £30,000 + Competitive Quarterly Bonus

My client, a leading insurance provider, is seeking an experienced Insurance Account Handler/Underwriter to join their dynamic team. They are currently offering an exciting opportunity within their inherent defect client underwriting division. This role is ideal for individuals with a background in insurance, who are eager for a fresh challenge involving underwriting and direct customer interaction. Office.

Role Overview:

As an Account Handler, you will handle incoming wholesale and retail inquiries, ranging from SME residential development projects to major commercial ventures. Collaborating within a team and reporting to the Senior Account Handler, your responsibilities will include scrutinizing applications, assessing risks, underwriting, and providing quotes under delegated authority. Strong communication, negotiation skills, and meticulous attention to detail are essential. You'll actively contribute to expanding the client portfolio and achieving team targets. This role offers progression opportunities, making it suitable for dynamic candidates interested in a career path supported by professional development through CII qualifications. Comprehensive training and support will be provided.

Key Responsibilities:

- Processing applications, addressing customer inquiries, analysing risk, underwriting within set limits, and generating quotations and policy documentation.

- Cultivating and maintaining key relationships to support targeted new business growth.

- Participation in national trade shows, networking, and relationship building.

- Adherence to governance frameworks to ensure organisational risk compliance.

Skills & Experience Required:

- Proven track record managing insurance caseloads within regulatory frameworks.

- Ability to analyse complex information and extract relevant facts.

- Strong product knowledge and market awareness.

- Excellent communication skills, with the capacity to articulate technical issues and pricing strategies, and influence stakeholders in the sales process.

- CII qualification preferred (with company-funded progression).
