Due to a further increase in workload, we are searching for an additional Assistant Financial Accountant on behalf of a global manufacturing client we have been partnering for many years now.
This is a long term contract with an end date of July 2024 and offers attractive hybrid working.
Applicants will require SOME ACCOUNTANCY EXPERIENCE but the key requirement with this position is some BUSINESS PARTNERING EXPERIENCE is considered a MUST HAVE and this should be clearly evident with your application/CV.
Rate of Pay: Attractive, according to experience
Duration: End date July 2024
Location: Folkestone
Hybrid working: Approximately 50% working from home and 50% office based
Hours of work: Monday to Thursday 9am – 5pm, Friday 9am – 5.30pm (lunch break 45 mins)
The Role:
The Assistant Financial Accountant will cover all elements of financial control and will provide assistance with the reporting and transactional control of their Export business (also known as Global Markets Group) for the UK entity whilst also facilitating the day-to-day support, challenge and insight to the commercial & accounts teams. You will provide timely, useful and insightful analysis to support understanding of all financial key performance indicators within the UK entity and E&A function for the Global Markets Group (Export business).
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Sales tracking and financial forecasting
Assist and challenge account managers to produce robust financial forecasts on a monthly & quarterly basis.
Assist and consolidate financial forecasts for EA and support forecast process for the UK entity, covering sales, trade related costs, marketing spend together with SG&A.
Assist with forecast process for remainder P&L items with focus on UK and France.
Annual plan
Assist with the co-ordination of producing the annual plan for the UK entity and EA for GMG working closely with the commercial teams.
Assist with the modelling of annual plan and provision of analysis and commentary.
Assist with production of the plan for GMG cost centres for the UK entity and assisting France.
Monthly analysis of results
On a monthly basis, assist with the analysis of the financial results to understand and communicate the key financial drivers and in particular the variances from the financial plan, prior year and latest forecast for UK and EA GMG.
Assist with the production of the standard monthly reports for UK GMG and ensure all monthly returns to Group are made accurately and timely.
Review of UK GMG costs centres and report on variances.
FX transactional review for UK entity.
Assist with invoice processing and control for all GMG regions.
Monthly departmental costs
Ensure that GMG department costs are fully understood and communicated.
Quarterly forecasting of the GMG cost centre.
Monthly and Year end Reporting
Assist with month end close and reporting, including preparation of month end adjustments
Assist with Power BI report builds.
Assist with auditor queries at year-end.
This role is far reaching and as such will not only require regular liaison with the UK business functions, EA GMG department, and the US International finance function but also to the teams in the wider GMG regions located in Asia, Middle East and Latin America to whom assistance with forecasting and review of actuals will be required, for example.
