Manufacturing Calibration Engineer
£40000 - £48000 per annum

Premier Recruitment Group is working in partnership with a well established and international organisation in Dartford to recruit a Manufacturing Calibration Engineer to join their team. This is an exciting, full-time and permanent role.
Job Scope:
You will be responsible for the internal and external calibration, maintenance and repair of all manufacturing or assigned equipment whilst driving efficiency through continuous improvement activities using Lean tools.
All manufacturing and site services equipment must be available in line with manufacturing and production needs and comply with legislation and company standards.
Responsibilities:
* To apply a range of mechanical and electrical skills including, installation, condition-based monitoring, fault-finding and servicing.
* Application of methodical thinking to help diagnose equipment issues applying Root Cause Analysis (RCA) to breakdowns and to ensure any identified corrective and preventative actions are completed.
* To liaise and supervise contractors and service engineers for external activities, ensuring safe working procedures are adhered to while avoiding interruption to manufacturing and ensuring all contractors are compliant.
* Demonstrate role model behaviour at all times in order to develop internal and external customer relations.
* To co-ordinate and schedule service work in line with manufacturing and production requirements.
* Internal and external PM schedules are completed on time and relevant data is uploaded online within system requirements.
* To maintain the Engineering asset management database in line with company procedures.
* To use Lean tools to implement continuous improvement and process change initiatives e.g. Kaizen activity, 5S, Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) etc. and be actively involved in the company's continuous improvement program.
* Performing to measures against specific objectives aligned with departmental plans and the company goals.
* To drive assigned capital expenditure projects through to completion.
* To comply with all health, safety and environmental rules, policies, procedures, and any other instructions relevant to working within their area of the company.
Skill Requirements:
* Controls/Instrumentation experience with an understanding of calibration requirements for equipment in the medical device industry.
* HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
* Proven experience in FMCG Pharma/Food industry experience in a process or packing environment.
* Working to ISO13485, FDA, TUV or other regulated manufacturing environments.
* IT Literacy required and a working knowledge of Microsoft Word/Excel and PowerPoint.
* Proven track record of improvement project involvement and delivery.
* Must be able to participate in an On-call Rota.
* 18th/19th Edition in Electrical would be an advantage
