Grounds Maintenance Team Leader

£22500 - £26000 per annum + Company Benefits

We are recruiting for a Grounds Maintenance Team Leader to work in the Grounds Maintenance Department of a large organisation located in Medway Towns. You will be responsible for the planning and coordinating of the grounds maintenance activities, ensuring the teams complete them to the standards required. The role will also include planning and monitoring burial services.

This is an operational role and may involve acting as an operative if there is a shortfall in resources to ensure contract is delivered.

The main responsibilities will include:

* Supervising the teams ensuring productivity, quality standards and statutory requirements are achieved.
* Planning routes and works and reporting any shortfalls.
* Ensuring that all staff are customer focused.
* Supervising the grounds maintenance teams delivering the Grounds Maintenance Contract, ensuring productivity, quality standards and statutory requirements are achieved.
* Undertaking performance monitoring inline with specifications and audit requirements
* Undertaking investigations and completing associated reports - such as accident / Insurance & corporate complaints
* Planning and organising staff rotas (weekdays & weekends) to ensure contract compliance is maintained and to fulfil requirements.
* Ensure that new staff are inducted into the Company's policies and standards and that ongoing on-site training is given.
* Manage all staff performance issues

Ideally you will have a Knowledge of:

* Health & Safety/ COSHH / IOSH
* COTS certificate
* PA1/ 6
* Relevant Intermediate National Diploma in Turf culture, Horticulture, City and Guild Stage 2 & 3 or equivalent

In addition to this, you will have experience of:

* Working on Grounds Maintenance Contracts.
* Health & Safety Management - Understanding / able to write risk assessments
* Good communication skills both written and verbal.
* High standard of customer service.
* Full Driving license with C1+E with no more than 6 pints and no disqualifications.

This is a permanent position, working 37 hours per week, Monday-Friday with overtime being offered at weekends at an enhanced rate.
