Goods in Operative

We have a fantastic opportunity to join our client based in Sittingbourne, due to continued expansion we are looking for Goods Inwards operative that will be responsible for all aspects of extrusion receipt and stock replenishment.

You will also need to be an experienced (Counterbalance) forklift driver as you will be required to unload pipes and gutters, these products are large and unwieldly so you will need experience in handling this type of product.

Duties to include:
• Unloading deliveries.

• Checking deliveries against the delivery note for description, quantity and damage.

• Loading of return loads, and defective products being returned to the supplier as advised by the export manager.

• To ensure that stock in the yard area is rotated (First In First Out) order through the pick faces.

• Ensuring that stock is transferred between sites as required to maintain a working pick face and best use of storage
space.

• Stock taking and reporting any stock discrepancies to your line manager for rectification.

• Completion of the delivery paperwork as requested,

• Working as part of a 2-man team to pick customer orders using a bar code scanner linked to the companies WMS
system and paper pick lists.

• Picking and packing of goods required to go on overnight carriers.

• Picking, packing and labelling of export orders.

• Replenishment of the Board store both during the working day as required and stock put away from the Good In area.

• Replenishment of the yard stock as necessary.

• Vehicle loading as and when required.

• Basic forklift maintenance, checking of water, oil etc.

• To ensure that the area under your control is safe, clean and tidy.

This position is being offered on a Temporary to Permanent basis for the right person.

Hours of work are Monday to Friday 08.00 to 16.30.
