Shift; Monday – Friday plus alternate Sunday

Hours; 1200 (Midday) – Finish Mon - Fri

0900 – Finish Sunday

(Shifts average 8 – 10 hrs)

Well established transport company specialising in the overnight national distribution of temperature controlled fresh produce to wholesale fruit and vegetable markets. We are looking to recruit a Class 1 depot shunter for our busy distribution facility in Staplehurst, Kent.

Duties include;

· Conducting daily equipment checks, immediately reporting any defects and / or damage.

· Carrying out shunting duties including relevant maintenance and safety checks.

· Moving empty and loaded trailers / vehicles on and off of loading bays.

· Liaising with the warehouse supervisors to ensure smooth and efficient vehicle loading / unloading.

· Set / check / operate fridge units on trailers, refuel if required.

· Maintain log of trailer movements / load sheets.

· Monitoring servicing & MOT requirements of vehicles & trailers.

· Effectively managing own working time in line with the Road Transport Directives.

· Observing & ensuring yard is in clean / tidy condition .

Qualifications/Requirements;

· Possess valid LGV (C+E) Class 1 Licence.

· Possess valid Digital Tachograph Card.

· Possess valid Driver CPC Card.

Key Skills & experience;

· Relevant experience in a similar role.

· Effective team member demonstrating excellent work attitude who works well on their own initiative.

· Willing to assist with loading / unloading if required.

· Positive attitude.

· Flexible to work hour in line with requirements of the business.

Occasional requirements to load / unload at local customer facilities, deliver / collect vehicles at dealer service locations.
