Our client are a global leader in providing propulsion solutions for the automotive industry, and are now seeking a talented and experienced Functional Safety Engineer to join their team. As a Functional Safety Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and reliable operation of our cutting-edge automotive systems.

Duties include:
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop functional safety concepts, strategies, and requirements for automotive systems.
• Conduct safety analysis, including hazard analysis and risk assessment, and develop safety plans and safety cases in compliance with relevant industry standards (ISO 26262).
• Define and execute safety verification and validation activities, including safety tests, fault injection, and analysis of system behavior under abnormal conditions.
• Participate in the development of safety-related documentation, such as safety manuals, safety analyses reports, and safety requirements specifications.
• Provide functional safety expertise and guidance to internal teams and external stakeholders throughout the product development lifecycle.
• Stay updated with the latest industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to functional safety and ensure compliance with relevant standards.
• Any other duties required

The successful candidate will have / be:
• Educated to a degree level in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree is preferred.
• Solid understanding of functional safety concepts and methodologies, particularly in the automotive industry (ISO 26262).
• Experience in developing safety concepts, safety plans, and safety cases for automotive systems.
• Proficiency in safety analysis techniques, such as FMEA, FTA, and DFA.
• Familiarity with system architecture design and embedded systems development.
• Strong knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet project deadlines.
