An exciting opportunity has opened for a Finance Assistant reporting to the Finance Manager at a very well-established company based in Dover. This is a great opportunity for someone with experience in a similar role looking to further develop their technical skill set.

The main purpose of the position is to support the Finance Manager to administer budgets on engineering projects. You will carry out balance sheet reconciliations and process month end journals.

Other duties will include:

Completing approval processes assigned to the Finance Department
Accurately allocating the budget agreed by the Board for Engineering projects
Supporting the project managers with budget and actual spend queries, including preparing excel reports when required
Monitoring live projects to ensure new assets are included in the ledger postings
Carrying out balance sheet reconciliations as allocated
Completing and actioning month end journals in line with the instruction from the Finance Manager and team
Other ad-hoc duties associated with the position
The successful/ideal candidate will:

Be educated to GCSE (or equivalent) in English Language and Mathematics Higher education to degree level or equivalent
Have an AAT qualification (desirable) and experience of working in the finance sector
Have knowledge of processing and creating invoices and posting journals
Have good knowledge of Microsoft Office
Be Self-Motivated, driven, conscientious and persistent
Have high standards of accuracy and attention to detail
