Your new company
A long established main contractor based in North Kent and operating across the Kent and Sussex regions now seek an experienced Buyer to join the team. With an extremely stable head office team, a strong order book and multiple repeat clients and framework awards they offer stability and variety of work in within a well respected organisation. Projects vary across Education, Healthcare & commercial fitout sectors with projects ranging form £2 - £20 million typically, With around 10 projects on site currently and a further 2 starting before the end of the year the business is healthy and growing. Due to a recent retirement they now seek an experienced Materials buyer to join the team on a permanent basis

Your new role
You will be the sole Buyer within the business responsible for all procurement activities, duties include placing orders, scheduling deliveries in line with site programmes, liaising with site teams and surveyors, negotiating with suppliers, managing site requisitions, overseeing the purchase orders and invoice queries, assisting with sub contract buying, you will also be required to take off from drawings when needed. You will oversee the procurement of all sites reporting to a commercial director.

What you'll need to succeed
A strong Materials buying background within Construction, ideally with a main contractor, you will be i/t literate, comfortable with take-offs and be happy working standalone within a larger commercial team.
