Office Angels are so excited to be recruiting for a Procurement Manager based in Maidstone. Working for a family-owned group who are a leading manufacturer, you will be the core person for purchasing of stock items.



Job Title: Procurement Manager

Location: Maidstone

Salary: £40k + bonus

Hours: Monday-Thursday- 8.30am-5pm Friday 8.30am-2.30pm

The role:

This will be a very busy role for someone who has experience as a buyer/purchasing in the construction industry.

As the Procurement Manager your key responsibilities would be:

* Process purchase orders efficiently, goods receipting and invoicing daily.
* Organise haulage efficiently and a focus on demonstratable cost savings
* Monitor stock levels according to defined seasonalized safety stock levels with sales forecasting ensuring core products never drop under the minim defined level and order fulfillment is a minimum 98%.
* Stock management - working with sales on customer forecasting, warehouse on stock management to ensure the right level of inventory is held at any one time.
* Process overhead costs / invoices / expenses on a daily basis in a timely manner.
* Communicate with hauliers to ensure smooth deliveries to customers and warehouse to enable OTIF deliveries
* Co-ordinate weekly stock checks with Sales & Operations to ensure demand is fulfilled and space available to accommodate
* Ensure sufficient stock levels in the warehouse & never let stock fall below continually reviewed safety stock levels for core products
* No more than 1% of orders with product 'to follow' for core products on a monthly rolling basis
* Produce a weekly buying pipeline of order value / mix, monthly plan of inventory management to demonstrate customer fulfilment vs budget & Forecast
* Inventory management to be always maintained at forecasted levels to alleviate back orders



We'd love to speak to candidates with the following skills:

* A-levels or equivalent qualifications
* Degree Educated - Desirable
* Min 5 years buying / purchasing experience in a relatable industry / sector (Construction / Manufacturing)
* Experience using Microsoft Office packages and an advanced understanding of Excel.
* Experienced with a good understanding of a buyer's role in a fast-paced environment, managing and prioritizing workloads, planning accordingly and reporting as required.
