Beams is a local charity based in Hextable that supports disabled children and their families across Kent and beyond.
We are currently looking for a Caretaker for the Charity at our Hextable Resource Centre.
The main duties of the role are
• To ensure that the building, its environs and all its associated equipment and services are maintained to meet mandatory health, safety and environmental standards.
• Undertake general maintenance and repairs
• Liaise with colleagues and (where necessary) external contractors to arrange for routine servicing of equipment
• Oversee servicing schedule
• Obtain quotations where required
• Receive/oversee workmen on site
• Help to prepare rooms for training etc.
• General gardening and maintenance
• Oversee Workshop
• Shop for maintenance supplies as needed
• Portable Appliance Testing
• Oversight of vehicles, cleaning, maintenance and upkeep of emergency kits and paperwork
• Routine water temperature testing and flushing
• Assist with H&S around the building

The work involves record keeping, general repairs, and the maintenance of the building. Attention to detail, skills, a sense of humour, being a team player and a commitment to the values of the Charity are important attributes for this role.
