Here at BJF, we have a fantastic opportunity to join our exciting and expanding construction biased business, where YOU can help support BJF Group as a sales ledger/credit controller.
Working with a large portfolio of public and private sector clients, our UK based organisation comprises of several divisions including Mechanical & Electrical, Construction, Projects, Reactive, FM, Small Works and other associated trades.
Your responsibilities:
Responsible for the Sales Ledger function including raising Sales Invoices/Credits to Clients
Inputting, maintaining, and monitoring all Sales Orders
Responsible for the monthly credit control function ensuring prompt payment of outstanding debts within terms and liaising with debtors where required
Maintaining and monitoring the Sales Ledger including a monthly review of aged debtors and resolving outstanding queries
Working experience of CIS scheme - payment applications / retentions
Processing of bank receipts and payments and prompt allocation
Assisting the Purchase Ledger function in busy periods
Answering general accounts telephone calls and direct calls
Providing ad-hoc support to the administrative team during holiday periods
Ad-hoc accounting functions
What you’ll bring
Proven experience in credit control
Strong attention to detail
Knowledge of an Accountancy Software package. Sage 200 preferred
Excellent knowledge and experience of Excel spreadsheets and Word documents
Ability to communicate in a clear and effective way, both verbally and in writing
Preferably worked in the construction industry with knowledge of both CIS and Reverse VAT schemes
